Marma Therapy

This is a hallmark therapy of the IMC Lifestyle Programme, which aims to stimulate the body’s innate healing power to cure illnesses on its own. This 3000 year old Indian Physical Therapy, was modified by Dr Ali to enhance its therapeutic benefits. This art was known to Martial Arts practitioners who needed to replenish their lost energy, improve their feel good factor and remove their aches and pains in order to return to full physical and emotional well-being within a short period of time.

The treatment is based on massage or mechanical stimulation of a combination of the 117 trigger or pressure points which are located in different parts of the body. It can be a bit painful in the beginning but eases as the treatment progresses, indicating the completion of the therapy.

Dr Ali also used his technique of Marma Point Stimulation to treat stroke and physical disabilities of hundreds of patients. This method was successfully tested in leading UK Research Centres in the UK. Its results were published in the Journal of Rehabilitation Medicine (Fox et al, 20061 –

This service is provided by Firdous Ali and Nizam Ali who are trained in the Dr Ali’s Art of Physical Therapy.
