GP AND INTEGRATED HEALTH SCREENING
Dr Uzma Ali is a full time GP and a member of Royal College of General Practitioners. She obtained her medical degree from India in 1998 and moved to the UK in 2002. Since completing her PLAB exams she obtained her registration with The General Medical Council and worked extensively in general medicine across a number of hospitals in London. She then went on to successfully obtaining her MRCP. After gaining over 4 years experience in Infectious Diseases & HIV, Accident & Emergency, ENT and Paediatrics she went on to obtain her MRCGP. She also worked as an Academic at Royal Free Hospital and was involved in teaching medical students and also being part of a major research project.
She has a special interest in Complementary medicine which she picked up in 2001 through the influence of Mr Firdous Ali, her husband, who is a Consultant in Complementary Medicine and a pioneer in his own right. After her marriage she decided to take a brief hiatus from conventional medicine and began to explore complementary medicine.
In 2002 she was invited by the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia in Austria, to provide Yoga and Meditation. She is an open minded GP who believes in helping her patients with complementary therapies where appropriate, particularly in cases where conventional medicine struggles to support patients with chronic ailments and diseases. IMC provides her the unique opportunity to bring both worlds together.
She will be providing a variety of services along with GP consultations. These services include:
- Routine health screening including advice and requesting blood tests or other related investigations
- Medical reports for insurance purposes etc
- Repeat prescriptions
- Referral to specialists
- Annual diabetic check ups
- COPD and Asthma diagnosis via spirometry and monitoring Cervical smears and
- Contraception Uncomplicated antenatal checks
- Telephone consultations
- Home visits
